Autumn Walks

Along with spring, autumn is my favourite time of year. The hazy morning sunshine, that frosty nip in the air and the glistening dew on the ground. I get to bust out my scarf, slip on some gloves and pile on the layers to stay warm. I pull on my walking boots and run through the sea of orange and yellow fallen leaves.

Ian and I don’t take advantage of the local National Trust properties as often as we should, so last Sunday we rectified that. We headed to Dunham Massey, took in our surroundings and embraced the cold autumn air. We sat on a bench observing some ducks and people watching. We trudged through mud, saw squirrels storing up for winter, then got up close and personal with some swans. Finally, we fought our way into the crowded restaurant and discussed our plans for the future over homemade carrot and coriander soup.
